What makes this story even more inspiring is the financial aid success:
Scholarships from every school he applied to — including state schools, which are known for offering fewer merit awards.
Even Furman University, despite being the only college not offering a deep discount, still extended around $30,000 in aid.
The private schools were the most generous, slashing tuition prices from around $60,000 down to the low-to-mid $20,000s.
Liberty University, the final choice, original priced around $50,000/year, brought the total cost down to approximately $23,000–$24,000/year through a combination of merit aid and scholarships.
Some of the Liberty scholarships also increase in value each academic year, offering continued financial support over time.
From the uncertainty of choosing the right college to confidently walking onto a campus and thinking, "This is it", this student’s journey is a powerful example of how strategic applications and financial aid planning can transform dreams into reality.
The student applied to ten colleges and was accepted by every single one:
Liberty University
Anderson University
Gardner-Webb University
Campbell University
Eastern Carolina University
UNC Wilmington (UNCW)
Westford College
Western Carolina University
USC Upstate
Furman University
After exploring his options and campus visits, he initially leaned toward Anderson University for its strong Christian values and small-school environment. However, once he visited Liberty University, it was clear — the larger Christian university felt like home. The moment he stepped on campus, he knew: "This is where I belong."
Choosing between ten offers wasn’t easy, but with guidance and smart strategy, this student identified a school that checked every box: strong academics, vibrant faith community, and a balance between a big-campus feel and personal connection. Most importantly, he found a way to make it affordable.
This story shows what’s possible when students are empowered with the right tools and guidance. Congratulations to this outstanding student for not only getting into every college he applied to, but also making college a reality without the full sticker price.
